The crown jewel of Marina Bay parks, the Rosie the Riveter/World II Home Front National Historic Park (part of the National Park Service) is home to the Rosie the Riveter Memorial Park and the historic Richmond shipyards. The park commemorates the important role the City of Richmond played in the World War II Home Front and  the wartime contributions of the residents and workers of the City of Richmond. Nearby in historic Kaiser Shipyard 3 is the SS Red Oak Victory, the only vessel built by the Kaiser Shipyards in Richmond, California that is being restored.
